if this is your brother typing that out, he needs to learn how to spell better, then he’ll have a better chance.

uc’s dont superscore.

ucsdhopeful, i concur

mavman100’s brother: reach

it’s either a match or slight reach

at worst: slight reach

I had a lot less than that and i got in… so i doubt hell have a problem… Just up the ECs, keep your grades up, and write some super fluffy personal statements

what’s his SAT for one sitting? UC’s don’t superscore.

my god the spelling of this topic kills more brain cells than getting hit in the head with a “you’re too stupid to go to UCSD” stick

gpa is low. AP scores dont matter (I got in with a 2 on english comp). uc’s dont superscore, extracurriculars seem alright, how are the SAT II scores??

i’d say this is a match. i’ve seen many people with worse get in. however, everything is basically average. tell him to make himself stand out in his essays b/c his stats are just alright.

gah…i hate when people pretend they know how the admissions process works and they don’t have the slightest clue.

essays don’t mean crap for ucsd. it’s a formula. calculate it yourself.

uhhh yes they do. writing skills for your essays dont mean #$% for ucsd. it’s the content that matters. if you write about hardships or struggles or great accomplishments and obstacles you had to overcome, you get a lot of points…

please don’t tear down what i said without looking in context

and to that i made my remark. obviously if in the essay you tell about something that would give you more points then they help.

when i read the title i thought you meant that you got “shot at” (like with a gun) when you visited UCSD hahaha
