Should Accounting Major Change to MIS?

Currently I am a sophomore accounting major at Michigan State University and am trying to get into Eli Broad College. The only problem is that in the past year the admissions for the college alone is a 3.4 and 3.8 for accounting. I currently have a 3.0 GPA overall and it is highly unlike that I can raise it to a 3.4.

I am interested in working in IT advisory, forensic accountant, or as a financial analyst. I would like to get my CPA and CISA. I considered other majors if I don’t get into Eli Broad like BS Economics. I am worried that it will be hard to find a job with a mediocre GPA in economics. But with MIS it is more practical to find a job.

I am thinking about transferring to Oakland University and majoring in MIS minoring in Accounting. Should I stay at Michigan State University and major in BS Economics or transfer to Oakland University and major in MIS with Accounting? Ernst and Young employees said that Oakland University is the third recruited university in Michigan after MSU.

My main questions is should I major in something that is somewhat unless like BS Economics at a more prestigious school like MSU or major in something more useful at a less prestigious school like OU?
