Should be Christmas shopping, instead...

I’m re- caulking my bathroom tub!

It’s a trip down memory lane…we ‘did’ this bathroom a mere 20 years ago when college son was an infant.
Where did the time go?
More importantly, how did I let this mold take over my tub?

So, no budget for a handyman, I went online and looked up how to DIY.
I don’t think I’ll quit my day gig but it looks pretty darn good!
My new manta: Way better than it looked before!

So, now I will clean up and go shopping…back to work on Friday.

Anyone else diverted from what they ‘should’ be doing??

Congratulations! Caulking is one of those jobs that isn’t really very hard, but gives one the warm glow that comes of doing something unpleasant that needed to be done. And didn’t take all that long…

My update: the ugly paneling in the family room is gone, the new drywall is complete, the attic is insulated, the gutters and windows are cleaned, and the deck replacement is scheduled. Next up, replacing the tile around the family room fireplace (removed to take the paneling off), and building a new mantle. After that, it’s a new kitchen window to replace the one with the blown seals. And lest you be too impressed, the only ones I did or am doing are the drywall, the tile and the mantle. We’ve subcontracted out the deck, the window, the windows and gutters, and the insulation. Pretty much anything that requires working from the top of a ladder gets farmed out these days.

WashDad-

Thanks for owning up to the subcontractors…
I was feeling a like a bit of an underacheiver for a moment!

I can sure relate to the ‘ugly paneling’.

We are completely redoing our master bath. Ourselves (obviously H is more involved in physical part of it). Started about two months ago in hopes that it will be finished for Christmas. There is no hope.
My bedroom is the most uninviting part of the house right now, even my little daughter asks us to please keep the door closed at all times!
We should move downstairs to our reading room/library, to preserve some holiday spirit:-)

It’s pretty obvious what I’m doing. Reading CC posts.

reviewing plans with architect to redo our bathroom.

My time is worth more elsewhere, and I would do a crappy job if I did it myself.
