It’s made by Sabre, a large personal defense retailer. I purchased the larger canister with the belt clip and another smaller one with the leash holder.
Is that the same Sabre (Sah-bray) that bought out Dunder Mifflin on The Office?
(we need a symbol to indicate that a post is not serious…)
sorry, couldn’t resist…
Totally agree.
I totally disagree, or perhaps I am posting this in the hopes of proving the point? A riddle of sorts💩
I post regularly on a sports-related board, where discussions can get very heated. At one time we could choose what font we used.
The board agreed that Comic Sans would be the official satire/just kidding font of the board.
When we lost the ability to choose font, instead we ended facetious posts with either (cs) or c/s, to indicate Comic Sans.
I know, I know, some of us need better hobbies… (cs)
My daughter is recovering from a dog bite. The dog across the street was fighting with a walking by dog, and daughter foolishly jumped in to separate them because the owners couldn’t get them under control. She’s pretty sure the walking by dog is the one who bit her on her left arm as the other dog was on her right and would have had to go around her to bite. The neighbor drove her to the Urgent care and gave the vet records to her immediately. The crazy lady walking by refused to give her last name (also lives in the neighborhood so daughter knew where she lives), refused to give the vet records, says that refusing to give the vaccination record is on the advice of her attorney and psychiatrist because this is an emotional support dog, and told daughter she was going to sue daughter! Daughter was the one bit so what can she sue about?
She told daughter to get an attorney, so daughter did (ME). I told daughter to just call animal control and she did and they came and put both dogs under quarantine for 10 days. Crazy lady came over to daughter’s today and was screaming about her dog not biting anyone, dog being bloody and hurt. Umm, do you think Daughter bit your dog? She refused to give the Animal Control officer the vet records (because it is an ESA; HUH? ESA still need to be vaccinated) so she got a citation for that. I told daughter to not answer the door again unless her 6’5" husband is home, and that he should be wearing his national guard clothing then.
The next call will be to the management company of the complex (all rentals) and they’ll want the vet records. People are so stupid. All daughter wanted was the vet records for the dog. Now crazy lady will have to prove to a hearing officer that he’s vaccinated and I’ll bet he’s not.
Do I think dogs should be allowed everywhere? NO! People can’t even control them walking in their own neighborhoods.
OMG. I’m so sorry your daughter has to deal with that crap. I’m fuming after reading this. ESA? At least where I live, all animals must be licensed, pets, ESAs, and service animals, and one of the conditions for licensing is a current rabies shot.
Lately, I’m noticing more and more prominently displayed signs at grocery stores, retail and restaurants gently notifying people that dogs aren’t allowed unless they are registered service animals.
As the weather gets warmer, I start to see more and more dogs being brought everywhere. Having them leashed is great but I’ve also seen several instances where the owners were unable to control the dog, even leashed. We have many breweries and outdoor eating in my city, and you see many dogs at these places. Some are content to just chill under a table, but others appear to be very stressed and unhappy being there. We’ve witnessed a couple of dog incidents at breweries.
I might have mentioned earlier in the thread - my youngest D was terrified of dogs as a child (after an unleashed dog charged at her when she was a toddler in her stroller). We went through years of her very real fear every time we encountered a dog (shrieks, screaming and crying, clinging to our legs). Thankfully, she eventually overcame it by interacting with gentle dogs, including a rescue that we got when she was 8 - but I don’t think you can underestimate the real fear that some people have of dogs, even when they are leashed.
My new pet peeve (pun intended) is people putting their dogs in shopping carts in grocery stores. Yuck! Doggy paws where people put their groceries! Do they not notice what their dogs routinely walk through? Disgusting!
I’m a poll worker for voting. There is one person who brings a very ill behaved dog with them every.single.time. And every.single.time I have to ask them to shorten the leash and control their dog (who is BIG, and not so friendly). And every.single.time, I have had to ask them to remove the dog from the polling place. This is not a service dog.
The dog really can’t be around a crowd of strangers. The owner doesn’t seem to care.
I offer the owner curbside voting if she wants to remain with her dog. But I’m not letting a dog intimidate the other electors…and frankly, what she is doing is…rude.
I noticed a new and very detailed sign at the YMCA where I take classes. It says service dogs only, and then has a detailed statements about service dogs on the pool deck. They can be there but there are a bunch of rules.
I’ve never seen a dog in the Y, but they are prepared.
The grocery store across the street? Another story.
Our Costco posted a large sign about service animals. I’ve seen some guide dogs for the blind in training at the store lately, but there are definitely fewer pooches that don’t look like they are doing any service (judging by the bad behavior). Nordstrom is a different story, unfortunately. They only have signs discouraging people from taking pets on the escalators.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog (even a service dog) in our Costco.
When I lived in California, there were dogs in Costco all the time. One day I saw a co-working there with his Great Dane.
Last year at the Nordstrom Anni sale, I took a seat in children’s shoes while my friend was in the check out line. The BIGGEST dog ever came walking thru, I think it was an Irish wolfhound, but it was HUGE. Definitely not a service dog as no way it could have fit under a table or airplane seat. No idea why it needed to be in Nordstrom.
I mentioned earlier that I’ve seen a dog taking a dump at the flagship Nordstrom… I was not amused.
Dog owners should incur significant and meaningful penalties for allowing their pets to poop or pee in spaces that are shared with others. Exceptions can be made for certified service animals. I doubt this will ever happen
Here’s the proof. Nordstrom. Tonight. The dog is a puppy. He was hacking something out in the yoga clothes department.
this happened in Boston yesterday (right by the marathon finish line as they were setting that up)
I saw that. The officer will probably get a talking to for discharging his firearm on busy Boylston Street. I’m glad the dog is okay.
Haven’t read all 200+ replies yet.
In answer to the question of this thread topic: No. Dogs should NOT be allowed everywhere.
Actual service dogs should be allowed everywhere. But by service dog, I mean a real service dog. Not somebody’s pet who they’ve decided to label as an emotional support animal and put an Amazon-purchased ‘service dog’ vest on it before venturing out, only to have the dog not behave like a service dog at all.
