When I was 15 a family friend who owned a pharmacy/medical supply store employed me to work doing inventory, answering phones, etc (I did not handle any meds at all.) I worked there until I was 16 when he closed down his shop. It’s a little over a year of experience, but I was wondering if it’s worth mentioning on my application. I ask this because I’m planning on majoring in Journalism which is obviously not related to pharmaceuticals. Technically I didn’t do a thing in the medicine/pharmacy aspect of the shop. Also, is there an area to describe your job/experience on the application? I don’t want them to think I want them to believe I was walking around handling medications when I wasn’t licensed to. Thanks.

It’s a job. Jobs are ECs. Just put it in. It shows you were doing something productive with your time. And as a future journalist, you never know what kind of life experiences will be of value to you so don’t dismiss it.
