Should I aim lower?

<p>I’m hoping to get into a smaller LAC like Bucknell, Davidson, or Colgate. Also interested in Elon, which is larger and I think not as competitive. My friends say I have a good chance but after reading all of these posts I am not so sure. Here’s my stats:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.5 unweighted (with my AP’s it’s a 3.6-3.7)
SAT: 2040 (1400)
EC: Varsity soccer, debate awards, lots of leadership in clubs, also pianist.</p>

<p>What do ya’ll think? Should I aim lower?</p>

<p>Another think is my class rank sucks because I am in a small school and it’s competitive. The average SAT at my school is 2000 and it’s hard to make A’s all of the time. But my friends in public school, even the ones at the top of their classes, aren’t as educated as the kids at my school. How will this impact things for me?</p>
