Many people from my school have entered easily into NU guess because we are colombians

jnd3344, Northeastern will be a significant reach for you. Typically URM status comes into play if you are on the cusp. Here is a brief breakdown for you below (sourced from Northeasterns website)

Northeastern median 25%-75%
GPA: 50% earned between 3.6-4.1
SAT: 50% scored between 1770-2030

Your combined SAT is a 1510 and GPA of 3.25 are well below averages. Your EC’s are average. You really need to bring those SAT scores to atleast an 1800 or higher especially given your low GPA. It seems like you are challenging yourself with a good schedule next year but that means nothing if you can’t succeed in them.

On a side note please do not think your URM status will get you into schools. Its really up to you. Obviously its plus but don’t fall into the trap that you are owed anything. Best of luck with applications.

I think that if you bring up your test scores ( SAT ) you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting in.
Especially if you’re a minority that they want (Colombian, right?)
I think your rigorous course load makes up for your GPA.
And B/C I don’t think that Northeastern is a need-blind institution, your ability to pay the whole tuition will also be favorable to you.

is that i have seen many people from my schools with lowers stats than mines enter easily in northeastern even some people tell me that anyone can enter northeastern like from where i am with like a gpa of 3.0 up etc.

I am purely going by the stats that you presented. It seems as though it would be very difficult for you to get in given Northeasterns average data set. URM helps, but to a certain extent. It also depends on what college you are applying to as well. The business school, engineering, and bouve will be very difficult to near impossible with your current stats. Perhaps take the ACT? I could be wrong though, Northeastern could very well use different regiments for foreign high schools. Best of luck.

i know a friend of my sister that is at northeastern who got in with like a 3.3-3.4 gpa with 1000 sat and weak ecs if even at all, plus northeastern comes to my school every year
