I’m live in a tourist town. I go to a technical hs. I am African American.

I don’t think being a URM really helps at getting into NYU. It’ll really depend on what school you apply to.

By the way, I was also very much so between two schools for ED and ended up pulling applications at last minute because I was so confused. Don’t do this! Be sure you have your heart 100% on a school before you do ED.

chances are, you will get into both schools. I recommend you doing regular decision. That way you can pick between the two after the whole package comes

That SAT is below average, make sure you retake that. That fact you are a URM does not help you too much for a school like NYU that has more than plenty of URM’s to accept. I would say NYU is a low reach depending on what you get on your SAT II’s.

Actually commentcomment, if you read my post, you would notice I actually did say the OP was a minority, and a 2030 is in the bottom 25% of all SAT scores.

Like I said, being a minority does not help much for NYU. It does help a little however.

GPA is great, if UW. SAT is low for NYU, average for GWU . ECs are solid, but average.

And don’t put that you got “accepted” to the Congressional Student Leadership Conference. The adcom will laugh your application all the way to the pile of rejections. I suspect that these acceptances are sent to tens of thousands of kids. I got one, as did my twin brother, and my little brother. If you follow through with it, put it on your app, otherwise, forget about it.

Fortunately, you have time to get those scores up. Break 2100 and you’re golden for either school. Good luck!
