Should I apply ED?

I am a high school senior from India. I attend a school that follows the CBSE curriculum. And I am interested in fine/visual/studio art, political science, IR, creative writing and history. I would like to know if it is possible for international students to get scholarships(need based/merit based).

The US is not my first option so I am applying to only six schools that are highly competitive.

  1. Colgate University
  2. Cornell University
  3. Davidson College
  4. George Washington University
  5. Wellesley College
  6. Case Western Reserve University/Bowdoin College

Should I apply to more schools? If yes, which schools? Should I apply ED? If yes, which school will I have a better chance of getting financial aid especially after the corona virus pandemic. Also should I apply to Case/Bowdoin, where will I have more flexibility?
Also how good are the portal campuses of American University, like the one in Paris?

If the US is not your first choice, do not apply ED anywhere. It’s meant to be binding, as in if they accept you with enough aid, you are committing to attend.

CWRU and Bowdoin are two separate schools and in different states.
