Should I Apply To These Schools?

<p>My information:
Undergraduate at University of California, Irvine
3.55 science GPA; 3.63 overall GPA; 32 MCAT
URM - African American and Native American
Two years of undergraduate research - Preventive Cardiology and Neurodevelopment
Three years of working as an EMT-B and Phlebotomist
Four years of volunteering at Children’s Hospital of Orange County - 355 hours total
Four year NCAA Division I athlete - scholarship
2 years of club membership (Pre-med, Medicine for Minorities, Sports Medicine)
Year long internships with a Pediatrician, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Hematologist
<em>During my freshman year, I received a D+ in General Chemistry which I retook and got a B+</em></p>

USC
Stanford
U of Michigan
U of Arizona
UC Los Angeles
UC Davis
Cornell
U of Washington</p>

<p>The list is fine, but it’s kind of odd. All West Coast except Michigan and Cornell? If you wanted to apply to more selective schools, you could do that too.</p>

<p>If memory serves, Arizona does not take a single out of stater. But sometimes my memory does not serve.</p>

<p>According to my bootleg digital copy of the 2010-2011 MSAR, in 2008 206 OOS students applied to the University of Arizona. 26 interviewed, and 1 OOS student matriculated. Doesn’t look good for OOS students ending up there. (I bet that 1 person was a student’s spouse or a faculty member’s child.)</p>
