Should I apply to UChicago?

Originally I was planning on applying to UChicago EA just because I could apply early and still apply to other schools. I like the school, just I didn’t fall in love with it like I did a few other schools I saw. On my list (excluding Chicago) I have 3 Reaches, 3 Matches, and 3 Safeties. Overall though, I think I would choose all my other reaches over Chicago, and maybe one of my matches. Since Chicago is so selective, is it worth the money to apply and the time to write the essays if it’s not even a top choice of mine.

Short version of my stats
-33 ACT
-SAT II’s: 760 in US, 750 in Bio (m), and taking Math ii and hoping for 800
-close to 4.0
-10 APs by the time I graduate (a few 4’s and a bunch of 5’s)
-President of 2 clubs, involved in 2 others.
-4 years track, 3 years cross country, 2 years swimming

Overall what I’m thinking is that the chances I’ll get in are so small, and I’m not even sure I like the school that much that I’m not sure if I should even apply. Help me :)

You seem to have answered your own question. If you don’t want to go to UChicago, don’t apply to UChicago.
That said, it’s a pretty neat place, so you might end up changing your mind about it if you’re accepted.

I agree with the above post. If you don’t want to really go, don’t apply. I wouldn’t choose applying EA just because “you can.” I would hate for anyone to end up having to go to a school that they didn’t really want to go to.

I mean, I just what to add that your top choices could change by the time you submit applications, or by the time you get decisions. Also… UChicago has decent FA, so if your other reaches aren’t known for good FA, that may be something to consider. (Most likely not cause your other reaches are probably Ivies)
