Should I apply to WASHU with low SAT scores?

Hello, everyone. I am a freshman currently attending one of the top 10 LACs.

I retook SAT in this January and got 2260, but the WASHU website stipulates that

the institution does not accept SAT scores taken during college. Other than SAT,

South Korean citizen

GPA: 1st semester-3.79(top 15%, Honor Roll+Dean’s list)

2nd semester midterm-3.87~3.94(all 200 & 300 level courses)

High school GPA :3.9/4.0 (2nd place in my school)

SAT: (660/770/730) SAT2: math2-800 bio-770

EC: worked as a phone-caller at Democratic party office
-school choir
-Asian club member
-adding subtitles to a Japanese documentary
-English Translator in Istanbul Cultural Center
-National Latin Exam: Gold Medal
-a researcher in an NGO(wrote an research paper about North Korean Welfare System)
-worked as a tutor in ESOL(English for speakers of other langauges)

I know WASHU is a very competitive school, so would the SAT scores hurt my chance?

You should be ok with that, try it anyway.

What was your original SAT?

Matisyahu// My original SAT was 2160, and the one I retook in January is 2260. I will submit the original SAT if I apply.

Have hope man.
But the admissions are rolling - so people who apply later will probably have super high scores. Deadline is March 15th, unless you are talking about the spring?
I applied too, Sat scores around yours. 4.0 GPA from another institution with around 50 credits. They started taking applications Feb 1st I think.
There is one essay if you want to apply.

Matisyahu// Thank you for your reply. But what do you mean by "people who apply alter

will probably have super high scores"? WASHU says that any SAT taken during college is

inadmissible.

Oh i meant in terms of GPA/Ecs/Essay/Extracurricular wise.
I’m saying this because a lot of people with like 2250-2300 SATs will probably also apply to like Harvard, UPenn, Cornell, Columbia. And they will have Washington University in St. Louis as like a safety or like a low priority in their minds. Therefore, they will put all their energy into other schools, and then during the last sector of Washington’s deadline, they will apply. Of course, their essays will be excellent, and their scores will be like Harvard-worthy.

Have you written the essay and researched the school?
