<p>Not really… besides the fact that it might be a hassle to switch to other majors like EECS, etc… Other than that, nope.</p>
<p>Admit rates vary between colleges, but applying undeclared, in itself, does not disadvantage you (except for engineering). If you really have no idea what you want to major in, undeclared in L&S should be good.</p>
<p>In L&S, all entering freshmen enter undeclared. Intended major does not matter for freshman admissions selectivity. A few L&S majors are capped and require students to apply to declare after completing the prerequisites; most L&S majors are not capped and can be declared after completing the prerequisites.</p>
<p>In CoE, entering freshmen may enter undeclared or declared in a specific major. CoE undeclared students can choose any CoE major during freshman year. Other students (including CoE declared majors and L&S undeclared students) must apply to change into a CoE major. CoE undeclared may be more selective at the freshman admissions level than some or most CoE declared majors.</p>
