I want to major in Biology, pre-med, or pre-pharmacy.

*I have not taken the SAT II. I might apply to UCLA by November 30th without the SAT II. Does not taking the SAT II basically kill my chances?

Pre-med and pre-pharmacy majors are very competitive in UCLA. I believe that you need to take the SAT II subject test for those majors? UCs no longer require SATII subject tests, but they are definitely recommended for some majors…

For clarification, at UCLA, there is no undergraduate pre-med or pre-pharmacy majors. But as a biology major in the College of Letters and Science you will be taking courses that satisfy the requirements of a pre-med or pre-pharmacy student.

See: [Majors - College of Letters & Science - UCLA Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/Majors/lsmajor.htm)

As for SAT II subject tests, the tests are not required if you are applying to UCLA’s College of Letters and Science as a bio major.

Not taking the SAT II will not kill your chances.

Taking the SAT II and doing well on it may add value to your application but it won’t be used against you if you don’t take it.
