<p>Before school started, I sent an email to my junior year AP statistics teacher about writing a recommendation letter for me. Then I found out that some schools require a rec letter from both a humanities teacher and a science/math teacher (like MIT). Since I already knew I would ask my AP physics teacher to write a rec letter for me, I asked my regular US history teacher from last year to write a rec letter for me too. A few days later I found out that my stats teacher actually retired this year. She replied back to my email though and said she’d “be happy to write me a recommendation”. </p>
<p>Here’s my dilemma. I have to either:
- Ask my physics, stats, and history teacher to write recommendations and have my physics + history teachers send recs to schools that require science + social studies letters and my physics + stats teachers to send recs to the other schools that don’t have preferences of recs, or
- Just ask my physics + history teacher to write recs</p>
<p>Notes about stats teacher:
- I wouldn’t say I’m close to her but I find her caring in a motherly way.
- I forgot to emphasize that I want a STRONG recommendation letter when I sent her my email requesting a rec.
- I didn’t really do anything amazing in her class, just go to after school to retake tests. I’ve had a short conversation about Boeing with her before
- I’m planning to major in in computer science so idk of having both science + math recs are good
- Got good grade in the class
- She has more time on her hands</p>
<p>Notes about history teacher:
- Also wouldn’t say I’m CLOSE to him but I’ve joked around with him before
- Wasn’t that big of a fan of regular US history; I can’t say that I was totally serious in class throughout the whole year
- I like the teacher because he seems like a really intelligent and organized person, I’m also very sure he writes really well
- Struggled for essays and projects but managed to end up with an A in the class both semesters (I’m STILL very grateful!)</p>
<p>I already waived my rights to read recommendation letters. I’m planning to apply for schools like Stanford, MIT, Pamona, Yale, Princeton, Berkeley.</p>
