Should I ask for more scholarships/grants?

So A&M offered me 18k in grant/scholarships and 11k in loans. These two together do meet the COA listed on the website, but ideally I want to graduate with the least amount of debt possible. I didn’t apply to any other schools besides UT, who didn’t offer nearly as much (10k grants 14k loans). My parents are separated and each make >$20k so they can’t afford much.

Has anyone had any success asking for more grant/scholarship money? How should I go about asking them without sounding like I’m trying to negotiate?

You need to learn to use the correct sign. You are saying that your parents earn MORE than $20k…when they really each earn less than $20k.
