I was thinking of writing about the close, intimate friendships I’ve made and how I value that intimacy - similar to a very close friend you feel comfortable crying to or revealing your deepest secrets without judgment. Do you think that’s a little too personal to put for an essay?

if you think that your writing is good enough to convey the touchy/feely(ness) well, and you can pull it off genuinely then go ahead. As long as you say something meaningful about yourself well, it should be fine.

As long as it isn’t sappy, full of cliches or overbearing.

Above all, give me something I haven’t come across before, not a retread.

any topic can be turned into something great! definitely go for it, worst case scenario you don’t like it and you’re at the same point you are right now
