I got wait-listed last year, so I’m wondering if I should give it another go.
My stats were/are:
3.5 GPA. 31 ACT.
5 years martial arts. 4 years concert, marching, jazz and pep band. 2 years drama. 2 years writing for the school newspaper. 3 years with a monthly column in the local newspaper. Put on a cheese-rolling for charity, then the only of its kind outside the UK.
I think I may have had a shot because I wrote a kick-ass essay, and because Chicago likes weirdos.
The only thing that’s different this time is that I’m applying early decision and I’m currently spending my gap year at an orphanage in India. Should I try again?
Thanks dudes.

I think you should try. Your stint at Indian orphanage might help.

Not to discourage you from applying if that’s what you want to do, but your GPA is low for U Chicago and you’ve done nothing during your gap year to address that, right?

Due to the publicity UOC is getting, next year’s admission will be more selective. You should retake the act or sat to increase your chances.
