So I got accepted to MSMC, Contacted the tennis coach, became one of her star recruits, and now I’e made my decision not to go all the way to new york. The admission counselor still keeps contacting me and keeping me up-to-date with the team. I really want to break it to them that I’m not attending MSMC. It’s making me nervous. I wanna do it now, but I wanna wait till may 1st. I dont know what to do.
Is it safe to say that you did not sign anything (EA, letter of intent) tying you to the school? Assuming that is the case, as long as you are 100% decided that you will attend another school, it is probably best to get it over with. Just tell them the truth.
I would contact the tennis coach and let him/her know to be polite. This happens to coaches all the time and having that information is better than not having it.
What would waiting accomplish? Do you think anything would be better if you wait?
In many things, avoidance is rarely an optimal strategy.
