Should I call about my course withdrawals?

Hi, all! I’m an incoming second-year transfer and am a little bit worried about my grades. I was registered for two courses during my school’s Maymester, which I listed on the Common App because I wanted to let UVa know that I would be completing them. Halfway through the mini-term I got sick and had to withdraw from both classes, so I got a W in both. Should I call UVa about this, to let them know what happened - or just wait for them to ask me about it? And do I need to worry about having my admission rescinded?

(I’m still SO EXCITED that I got in! Can’t believe I’m headed to UVa. But this issue is ramping up my anxiety.)

Dean J addressed transcript “anomalies” in a blog post a few months ago. You can read it here: <a href=“Notes from Peabody: The UVA Application Process: Addressing Anomalies”>http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/2014/02/addressing-anomolies.html</a> Although her post is referring to “mid-year” grades, it probably applies to all new student transcript anomalies. I would send an email that can be added to your file and follow-up with a phone call.

Thanks, neon! I appreciate the help, I think I’ll definitely check in with them tomorrow to explain.
