Should I call collegeboard and ask them if they made mistakes with my scores?

I took the Dec SAT and got a shameful 1840. M:610 Cr:590 Wr:640. I feel very very uneasy about my math score because my low 600’s days in math are far in the past. On my most recent practice tests I consistently scored in the mid to high 600’s. Mostly 660’s and 650’s. One test was a 660, another one a 650, then 660, 640, then 650,then 690. Well I just dont understand how I got a 610. I attempted 52 questions and on most of my practice tests I attempted the same amount of questions and on average I get a 660. I even used the Official College Board’s Practice tests. Math also one of my strongest subjects. Do you think I should call College Board and ask if they made a mistake?

The difference between a 610 and 650 is about 5 question, so that means you got 4 extra questions wrong(due to guessing penalty). Did you feel that the math sections were harder than usual?

I wasnt nervous during the test. I felt alert and calm. I dont get how I got a freakin 610. I literally thought it was easier. I was expecting at least a 700.

does collegeboard make mistakes like that?

^unlikely but I would think it’s somehow possible.

I just dont see how a 610 is possible for me smh

should I??

Check the detailed report. Tell us which form you had (Tomato Consumption/Sphere in cube) and tell us how many correct/wrong/omit. Let us make a determination on any CB error based on our experience and what we’ve seen on the SAT Prep forum the past couple of days.

well i had the sphere in the cube form. According to the report I attempted 52 q’s and got 10 wrong 2 omits. I really doubt i actually got 10 wrong though. Because on the practice test, official college board one’s I got 1-6 questions wrong AT MOST 6 after attempting about 51 Q’s.

How many did you think you missed after looking at the consolidated list? or did you not remember what you put? because all of the answers on there are right cuz I got the exact score i thought i did.

I thought i missed 6. I remember the list too. I missed the sphere in the cube, the circle inside the triangle inside a larger circle, the question about breaking down a triangle, the question with the 1/x squared times y squared equals 3, the question with da answer 60/x and the surface area question.

should I contact them ???

Bubbling error seems more likely.

It’s your call if you want to contact them but I don’t think they made a mistake.

I think you should. What do YOU have to lose?

^Over $50. And weeks of (likely) false hope.

If you thought you got a 660 and your score came back as a 260 I might give them a call. Otherwise let it go and accept that your correct score for this particular test was a 610.

If this is going to haunt you $50 worth call them and have them hand score your test. It depends on what it’s worth to you to know for sure.

I find that students often score better on practice tests than on the real thing, even though you feel calm you are in a high stakes test and it seems to skew perception just a bit. But you could be one of those rare exceptions and they may come up with a different score if you pay for hand scoring. Only you can judge the relative woth in aggravation and fees.

$50 is what we have to lose… that’s a lot.
