Should I change my major if major prep classes arent offered at nearby CCCs?

There are CCCs I can choose from near me and neither offer most of the classes I need to be a Global Studies Major.

I would need these classes for UCSB.

Should I change my major to Political Science-Public Policy because of this?

Contact the major departments at the target schools to see if you can be admitted without the unavailable courses and “catch up” after transfer without delaying graduation. (The information may also be on their web sites.)

Also, you may be able to cover more of the courses by attending more than one community college, if they have different subsets of the needed courses.

But it looks like for UCSB:

GLOBL 1 and 2 are not available

For the other two required courses, each is a “choose one of the following”, and there is at least one in each category at the community college you are showing the courses for.

So you can complete two of the four for UCSB before transfer and complete GLOBL 1 and 2 after transfer, if the department allows it.

For UCLA:

GLBL ST 1 is not available.

One of the statistics courses is available.

Community colleges usually have some modern foreign language.

For the five courses over the three areas, there is one course available in culture and society group A, two courses in governance and conflict, and two courses in markets.

So you will be able to complete six courses plus foreign language courses, though you will have to take GLBL ST 1 after transfer, if the department allows it.

if at all possible, just try to take very similar courses.
I was required to take Soc Sci 3a(basic computing course) at UCI. There were no equivalent courses offered… yet when I got in I found out that they accepted my intro to computers course from CCC.

If no CCCs near you (within reasonable travel distance) offer courses in your major and you can’t find any courses online, then explain that in your UC application (be sure to document your effort in finding comparable courses). The UCs do take availability of courses into consideration and you should not be disadvantaged because you don’ have access.
