Should I Commute

So I just accepted my Admission at Cal State Long Beach for Civil Engineering and will be receive a little more than tuition in Grants. I live in Glendora which is about 1 hour away without traffic and 2.5 hours with traffic from campus and dont know if I should commute or if I should try to find a place near campus or on campus. Any advice would be great from either someone that commuted or once commuted. I am a transfer student with about 2.5 years left. Will be taking out loans if I decide not to commute.

Thanks in Advance!!

Two hours of driving time that could be study time or work time is an awful lot to give up. Five hours is way too much.

Try to find a place to live near campus, and get a part time job to help pay for the cost of housing. Remember that the job will not just help you meet expenses. It will alsogive you practical experience to add to your resume, and can help you get better work in the futur.
