Should I consider myself a first-generation applicant?

My mother didn’t go to college. My dad died when I was young and although he was successful in real estate, my mother doesn’t know if he went to college or not. I haven’t seen any record of a degree in his office. Should I consider myself a first-generation applicant?

Do you have contact with your Grandparents/his parents? Or his siblings? If you have been thorough in your quest, and still are not sure, I think it would be fair to consider yourself a first generation applicant. My two cents.

Nope. His side was much older and so anyone who would know is unfortunately not alive. :/

Thanks for the input!

You are welcome. As a First Generation Applicant, CC is a wonderful resource. Don’t be embarrassed to ask questions!
G’Luck!
