I got an 2210 on the May SAT (800W) and lost most of my points on the critical reading section. Do you guys think I should just focus on CR and discontinue taking the writing portion on practice tests or just continue on with my current method of taking every section?

Well, don’t completely slug off writing. Do it occasionally to keep yourself brushed[if you’re looking for the highest score in the single setting]. If you’re getting superscored, toss writing out the window and focus on CR.

It depends on how confident you are in your SAT Writing skills.

It is important to take the ENTIRE test at once. Otherwise, it doesn’t simulate a real test and your scores might be inflated since your brain is “less tired”. You definitely don’t need to review, but don’t stop doing the writing sections.

That’s a waste of time. He/She can replicate one or two tests like that, but for practice he/she should focus solely on CR.

I guess I will still take the writing section of the SAT on occasion, but will not focus too much on it because most of the colleges I want to go to superscore. @sa0209 Did you take every practice test in its entirety? I don’t think there was too much score inflation when I took only a few sections at a time because my score would consistently be in the 2100-2250 range.

I got a 2270 with all my points off in Critical Reading. I’m studying CR exclusively until about a month before the test.

Yea it’s definitely not necessary that you take the whole test at once. Your tests are most likely going to be superscored so if I were you I wouldn’t bother
