Should I correct this common app mistake or let it go?

Basically, I had no guidance when I did my common app and unintentionally answered the question wrongs. I put the most hours I would do an activity in a week instead of the average. After you add up all my extracurriculars it adds up to

25 hours a week of work, 52 weeks

24 hours of family stuff (caregiving), 52 weeks

8 hours a week of community service, 40 weeks

15 hours a week of sports or training 45 weeks

4 hours a week of clubs, 30 weeks

Which adds up to be an unrealistic amount of hours dedicated per week,!

My question is, If I was accepted into every college I applied to, none being ivy’s or very selective schools. Should I correct this or let it go? It does seem like an unrealistic amount of hours but if my high school transcript says I did all these events just not the hours is it worth bringing this upon myself? I know this was a really dumb mistake but I don’t know whether to correct myself and make myself look like a fool, or let it go since I have already committed

If I’m understanding properly, you put the crazy amount of hours in and you were accepted into many schools. Correct? If so, just let it go.

I had thought it meant the most you would do that activity for and how many weeks a year you would do it.

But yes I did get accepted into every school I applied to and my main concern would be if it came up. But i actually did do the events and did them for many hours just misrepresented it unintentionally.

I would let it go. If they had concern, they would have flagged it. btw - many schools have zero concern about ECs and perhaps those are the ones you applied to.

If you want to make the school you plan to attend aware, go ahead - but it’s likely a nothing burger.

If you let us know the school, we can tell you.

Good luck.

I’ve looked through their admission website and see nothing about ECs at all.

So I then went to the Common Data Set where it shows what matters for admissions. Not ECs. So this is a big nothing burger.

Best of luck

It’s very difficult to fill out the hourly commitment accurately (because the table assumes you do the same things for the same number of hours each week), and I suspect admissions officers take those stats with a grain of salt.
