Should I cut down my college list?

I live in Georgia and have just began my senior year. I am currently planning on applying to UGA, South Carolina, FSU, Clemson, Notre Dame, Virginia, Texas, and Auburn. However, I know that some of these schools may be a big reach for me so I am trying to determine if I should cut down this list to save time and money.

I think your list is fine. I’d probably add in another safety.

You seem concerned about the cost of college applications, but not the cost of tuition, room and board. All of those OOS choices are very expensive, and you will be limited in financial aid options and scholarship opportunities. Are finances really a concern? Then you will need to add some financial safeties. I don’t think the list is too long – maybe substitute some of the reaches for more realistic choices, both for admission and affordability.

UVA is a pretty hard school to get into, for in state and OOS. Your GPA is pretty low and i’m not sure about your SAT.
