Should I decline to state my ethnicity on my college application?

I understand that it is illegal in the United States for any university, or other entity, to set a required number regarding race. However, I am Caucasian. My mother is Caucasian, my father is Caucasian, and I am not a first generation. Laws regarding “quotas” aside, would it be beneficial to my admissions status to “decline to state” my ethnicity?

No any effect would most likely be negligible.
