should i do this?

um without saying my stats or anything i want u guys to suggest me if my plan for applying to college is decent .

the plan is to ED to NYU CAS. and also apply to Rutgers. if i get rejected from CAS i could go to Rutgers and do my premed stuff on a scholarship(hopefully). after sophmore year i transfer to stanford or any of the other hyps/ivyleagues and finish my undergraduate. decent plan ?

I would absolutely recommend doing this.

Judging by your post, I would guess that you are a shoo-in for NYU and Rutgers will probably throw scholarships at you.

Also, we all know that it is extremely easy to transfer to schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and Stanford. As long as you can spell your name right on the application, transferring is almost guaranteed.

I would like to congratulate you on having everything figured out.

Can you afford NYU if they do not give you any merit scholarships?

If not, then this is not a good plan.

Sounds convoluted and farfetched. Why would you assume that if you aren’t admitted to NYU ED, you’d still be likely to qualify for a merit scholarship to Rutgers? If you don’t think you have a shot as a freshman applicant to Stanford or the Ivies, what makes you think your chances as a transfer would be significantly better? These schools have high retention rates, therefore few transfer spots. For 2010-2011, Stanford accepted 25 out of 1,253 transfer applicants.

A better plan would identify a full set of reach, match and safety schools based on your qualifications, interests, and budget.

Back to the drawing board. Not a bad plan IF you shoot a little lower than Ivies and Stanford, which are notoriously difficult to transfer into. But if you’re at NYU you’re already at the level of schools that you’d have a realistic shot at transferring to.

Great plan!

How did other thousands of students who got rejected from Ivies didn’t think of that!?

so in other words, if i get rejected from NYU ED and i am accepted to Rutgers i could transfer during my sophmore year to nyu?(that would be more realistic?) could i possibly transfer to duke or tufts or something similar?(i just want to get into a good and prestigious school for premed, although i know rutgers is perfectly good for premed. )

also i can afford NYU mtpaper and thanks for all the sarcastic posts guys~

It is generally more difficult to get into a selective college as a transfer student than as a freshman applicant. It will likely be much more difficult to get into one of the very selective colleges you have mentioned as a transfer. If you check the Common Data Set for any of the colleges you mentioned, you will see that the acceptance rate of transfer students is extremely low. It is not impossible but your chances are very low. I would not make it a game plan.

alright thanks. so in other words i could apply but don’t keep my hopes high.
