Should I EA, or Apply RD and boost Math2 By 60 Points

At the moment, I have a 740 Sat Math II subject test score (from sophomore year). As a senior now, I can most likely get an 800. While I don’t plan to necessarily apply directly into mathematics, I do plan to add mathematics as a second major later on. I am applying to some competitive schools (such as University of Michigan).

Should I apply EA with my 740 or take the test and not get my score in time for EA and just apply RD?

While most EA deadlines are November 1, I won’t get my score back until November 15 if I take the test again. Is there a way could still send in my November 15 score and have it evaluated along with my EA application?

Do the schools require/recommend subject tests? If so, I would suggest taking it again, especially if you think you are better prepared and able to score 800. Note that a 740 in Math 2 has a percentile ranking of 57% which means that you did better than 57% of the test takers.

You need to ask the admissions office at the school you are considering applying EA to whether or not they will consider the test score (or check on their website - some provide clear information). Some schools require all parts of the application to be in by the deadline, others allow a few weeks for LOR or test scores to arrive.

EA doesn’t boost your chances anyway, so I would go for that 800 and RD.
