Some says i should not emphasis my position is my point of view, instead i should make it looks like some common sense. But some says i should do that. What should i do?

Should i use absolutized words like ONLY or NEVER or ALL in my writing?

Thanks.

From SAT guides I learnt that you should clearly state your position. The structure is like this:
1 paragraph - Introduction to the topic, stating your position, acknowledging some oppositional views and saying that your examples will show that your position is the right one.
2, 3, (4) paragraphs - examples supporting your position.
5 paragraph - summarize your position.

They say that if you don’t take sides, you seem wishy-washy and the reader is confused because s/he doesn’t understand what is your point; therefore you may lose points for not knowing what you are writing about.

In some cases it happens that I cannot choose sides or have weak examples to support one side, then I do like this:
1 paragraph - introduction to the topic, acknowledging that it is impossible to see this topic from one side only and that both sides have valid points.
2 paragraph - support one side with 2 examples.
3 paragraph - support the other side with 2 examples.
4 paragraph - summarizing the complexity of the issue.

I think you should avoid generalizing. The CR part already teaches you that… :)

Thanks a lot
