Should I even apply?

A lot of people told me NEU wasn’t that selective but seeing the decisions this year it seems to be quite the opposite. I’ve taken mostly honors/ap courses in high school which kind of screwed my GPA and freshman year.

I will make sure I will apply early.
I will get three letters of recommendation

Please let me know my chances, I’m really worried. I won’t be able to get my GPA up anymore and I probably can’t raise my ACT score much if not any.

Money is not a problem either, I am of Indian ethnicity (M).
Top 35% of Class

Any other good college reccomendations in New York, Boston, or Chicago let me know! thanks!

My stats were similar to yours, I think slightly worse. I also took all honors level classes and then slacked off on the work sometimes and didn’t do so great. So I did get in get merit money, but that was five years ago. So I guess that’s comforting but maybe not enormously?

Most people are not aware of how selective Northeastern has become in the past 10 years. NU is more selective than Boston University but not as selective as Boston College.

Your grades show a good upward trend. A lot will depend on your SAT/ACT scores. It won’t hurt to apply.

One key factor may be your choice of major. If you pick a major that they don’t get too many apps for, I think that would increase your chances.

Alright cool! Any idea’s on some of these majors?

Psychology?

^Well what do you intend on majoring in?

Not 100% sure on my major at all. I’m leaning towards Biology or Psychology. I could still pick a easy major so I can get in then switch my major later on.

So you def want to be in College of Arts and Sciences though, right? Or maybe it’s not called that anymore… I’m not really sure of all the new changes.

Yep that’s what I’d like to be in. Almost everyone I’ve seen with over a 3.0 and 25 or higher on their ACT with decent EC’s has gotten in.

Since I have 14 AP/Honors Classes will I have a really good shot at CAS?
