Should I even bother applying ED?

<p>I am currently a junior, and I realize it is early to think about but im not sure where to apply ED. I know I want to go to Brown, it is absolutely my first choice, but I feel like my chances are so slim, I should use my ED somewhere where I have more of a chance.</p>

<p>My parents both went to Brown, so that would help. Also I am African American, which I have heard helps. I am very interested in film, and I am aware that Brown does not offer any film production classes, so I would probably major in Literary Arts or Visual Arts or Media Studies, and take Film classes at RISD. However, I am wondering, should I apply ED to somewhere like NYU or LMU where I probably have a better chance?</p>

I think you would have a great shout being a URM and double legacy, so it wouldn’t be a “waste” if you have decent stats.</p>

<p>it’s pretty hard to say whether or not you have a chance when you don’t post anything other than you’re black and both your parents went there. based on that i think it’s obvious you would have a good chance if you had decent academics, the only thing that could even possibly be better than being a black double legacy is being an athlete.</p>

<p>They don’t offer the classes that you want so I don’t see why you would go there besides it just being Brown.</p>
