Should I even bother transferring with corona?

Im an incoming sophomore at a T60 private college at the moment. im an international student with a high GPA and im very involved. (Just been made president of two societies, friendly with the actual president of the college through awards etc.) The college Im at is great its just not the college I think i should be graduating from. I ultimately came here for the climate and because it was really just my best option after freshman admissions. I applied to transfer before corona etc. so i never even got to say goodbyes at the college im currently at and with fall still in the air transferring colleges feels like the wrong thing to do at present.

When I applied to schools truthfully, with the luck i have i didnt expect to get in. i have the stats but also im the kind of person for whom things just dont tend to work out often.

However somehow, I got into Northwestern which is obviously an incredible institution. Many parts of me want to go there because it would jsut be the perfect thing for my future but I just feel transferring during this world changing event is not the right move. Ideally I would just want to defer for a year and carry on at my current institution for this year whilst things die down. However, NU dont allow deferrals and I fear if I reject the acceptance now and apply again I wont get in anywhere and I’ll be forced to stay where i am, not that where i am isnt great its just I feel trapped and bored academically.

Please help on advising me what I should do !

Why is it “not the right move”?

Think of this from the perspective of decades. 20 years from now, would near-40 you think that it would be better to stay or to go?
