Should I even try to get into my dream school.

I have wanted to go to GA Tech for a long time now and my SAT scores have really been holding me back

Tri-em (Music National Honor Society)
Varsity Track and Field
and I have over 100 Community Service Hours

I’ve been running track and field since the age of 10 and I have participated in Varsity Track throughout my entire high school career so far. I have played the violin for 7 years as well . I have also been apart of my High School Leadership/ Mentoring Program and the Global Business Academy in my school. I have received awards for my participation such as Scholar Athlete, Academic and Music Varsity Letters.

Although I am involved in my school I know that I need much higher SAT scores to even be looked at. I am taking it again in a few days and hopefully I do much better, but I just want to know what my chances are. Many people tell me not to be discouraged because other girls just like me have been accepted with around the same qualifications that I have. I have read people give realistic advice on these discussion pages and I could really use some. Some people are even telling me to try the ACT because I might be a lot better at that test. What I am really asking is, is their even any hope for me to be accepted into this school? I am currently in my senior year of high school and it is time to start applying for colleges. I really would like some advice on what I should do better to get accepted and what my chances currently look like?

Thank you!
