I thought it’d be a good idea to stick in a thing for my counselor about why I ended up with three Bs in math/science my sophomore year but As in everything else… now that I think about it, that was probably a pretty terrible idea, and I’m flipping out about it somewhat. (too late now, though.)

However, I’m currently finishing up application essays for MITES (highly selective engineering summer camp) and I’m looking for input on whether or not it’s worth explaining those Bs. Normally if they were Bs in the humanities I wouldn’t be that worried, but I’m applying for engineering, for Pete’s sake.

But. I have almost straight As this semester in math/science for junior year, and maybe it’s not worth explaining if I show improvement…

And yes, I know Bs aren’t horrible grades. The problem is that math/sciences appears to be, based on my transcript, not my specialty, even though I’m trying to go into that field.
