Should I fail a class, or drop out and take it next year/semester?

I got a 30% on my test, and now I have 2 options

stay in the class, most likely get a 0.0/1.0, retake it and have a F/D on my transcript even if I get a 4.0 the second time i take it.

drop the class, no grade reported, take it again and it wont show up on my transcript that I dropped it BUT have to pay 2,000 dollars out of pocket

Can you afford to pay the fee if you drop it?

If you need your financial aid package to pay the bill, you can’t drop. Talk to the professor and work out if there’s a way to still pass.

talked to an advisor and someone who does finical aid, if I drop I still get my “package” the 2,000 is what finical aid wouldn’t cover for the 2 missing credits to be full time.

I dont know, I talked to my dad about it and he doesn’t like the idea but I can take out a loan in my own name and py it off. Just imagine all the stuff I could so with 2,000 dollars :frowning:

What did other students get on the test? What was the highest score?
If everyone else did better then you are not studying correctly or are not prepared for this course.
I would do whatever I could to Withdraw instead of fail.

Failing classes tank your GPA so I would try to withdraw if possible. And besides, if you just fail it, you’ll have to take it again anyways assuming it’s not an elective.
