hey guys i am a japanese american currently attending an international school in japan…

i was born in the states but i had to come here cuz of my parents’ job.

so here is my current stat: SAT 1: 1990 Reading 660 Math 690 Writing 640

and my SAT2: Japanese 800 and World History 600

I have october and november test dates to improve my chances and i dont know whether i should take the SAT1 twice or SAT2 on november.

Personally, i would feel more comfortable taking the SAT1 twice because it is def more important, but some people tell me that a japanese american taking a japanese test in japan and getting a 600 on World History will be frowned upon…is this true?

I ONLY HAVE FEW DAYS TO MAKE THIS DECISION SO PLEASE HELP ME!

Thanks.

also fyi, im thinking about applying early decision to one of the top LACs like Haverford, Carleton, or Wesleyan.

Some schools have specific requirements for SAT subject tests. Some want to see math and science. Taking SAT I two more times (for a total of 3) is not that productive. It is better to take a study course than to take it twice.

Do you have the Dec test dates in Japan? Many schools will take the December tests.

What is your family ready, willing, and able to pay for your education? If they can’t pay the full Cost of Attendance minus your student loans ($5,500 frshman year), then don’t apply anywhere early decision. This also has the advantage of giving you more time to sort through the whole ACT/SAT/SATII issue.

What advice are you getting from the closest advising center of [EducationUSA | Study Abroad, Student Visa, University Fairs, College Applications and Study in the U.S. / America](http://www.EducationUSA.state.gov) ? I would expect that some of those counselors have worked with US citizens before, and can give you a hand with all of this.

Wishing you all the best!
