Should I go to a two-year upper university or a tradional university after community college?CSMajor

Hi, I live in Alabama, computer science major and close to making decisions on where to transfer too. I’m sure some other states have something similar to what we have, a two year upper university where its the opposite of a community college, meaning it only offers junior and senior level classes, for a very reasonable tuition price.

My question today is wither I should consider going to a two-year upper university, Athens State University, or if I should try and go to a traditional university. Athens, which is a two-year upper, has my major and the tuition is only around 5,000$ Plus, they offer very good scholarships which might lower that tuition even more. The only downside about this university is that it’s a 100% commuter campus, with no dorms whatsoever. Plus, there is not much flexibility in the class time offerings, as it targets the adult students, so I might have to take classes after 5pm. My idea is that I could do this then save up money to go to a decent graduate university. The school is also accredited, and apparently the CS department is decent and a couple of local employers in the area are known to hire them.

I could however, go to the local university, University of Alabama-Huntsville-which is also accredited but is more of a traditional campus. Plus, since it has more students that means scholarships for transfer students are a lot more competitive. Furthermore, the CS department is recognized within the state, but not much out side of the state.

Will it really matter if I go to the two-year upper if I plan on going to a known graduate university? Example, Auburn University.

It really depends on your finances. If you can afford a traditional campus experience, it might give you more opportunities to do research and prepare for a graduate program. If the finances are driving your decision, then go for the option which minimizes your costs.
