To start, I’m not trying to “stunt” on anyone with anything. With that in mind, my honest question is should I go to all my revisits? I am fortunate enough to get a grant at an acroynm school and have been accepted to a school in California. Since, I live in New England I would have to book a flight out. I don’t want to make a mistake picking the acronym school, even though I like it, because I never got to experience the California one!
I agree. If you have the resources, definitely visit the school in Cali.
In general, I recommend trying to narrow top choices down to 2 or 3 and revisit no more than those. After a while, the revisits will run together, and it’s unlikely that anyone’s #4 choice would jump to #1 based on revisits.
Yes, I would agree that if you have the resources to make it out to California you should go to the revisit day. I revisited at 3 schools and my third choice school was actually the one I ended up attending! I made the choice with confidence and haven’t looked back since that day, but if I hadn’t revisited I would be attending a different school. Also, I live in California but go to school in New England so I can say with certainty that schools in CA are very different than ones on the east coast. Very different communities and vibes, so that’s something to consider. Feel free to pm me with any questions.

Yes absolutely if you can afford it. And a revisit when you are accepted is a very different perspective than before acceptance.
Thank you for all the advice! I enrolled into the acronym school because I was unable to go to Cali or any available revisit date. Ive held discussions with current students from both schools, so Im not completely in the dark with my decision.
@unemployedcardib Take it from a California parent, your East Coast acronym schools are incredible. I’d give anything to be able to provide my D with an experience like that. You are truly blessed!
FYI You probably could visit Cate or Thacher on another day other than the scheduled revisit days,

If possible revisit no more than 2-3 schools, especially if you were not able to visit last fall. If you can afford the trip (time off school, money, etc.) it could be good to visit across the country. Even if you decide on a NE school at the end of the process.
