Should I go to CCNY Grove, University of Buffalo, or RIT for Computer Science/Software Engineering?

I’m split between three options of choices.
I got into Grove School of Engineering at CCNY and University of Buffalo with no financial aid and I plan to do Computer Science.

I also got into RIT for Software Engineering and with my financial planning I would leave the school with approximately ~ $50k debt(maybe less after Co-Op).

What do you guys think would be the best choice for a CS/SE major?

Both RIT & UB are great school for CS. Although $50K debt is high.

You can’t borrow $50k on your own. Who is going to cosign that debt for you?

Sit down with whoever it is who is helping you pay for your education, and run the numbers again carefully. If CCNY is your only real option, then go there. Do well. Know that you can reach your goals, and that you will finish your education without a lot of debt.

I was expecting money from the coop program would help lower that, and if not my parents would definitely cover it if I was unable to pay it

I’d go with SUNY Buffalo if it’s affordable: terrific for CS and software engineering, not 99% commuter like CCNY. but a real “college experience”.

Co-op is not a sure thing

RIT requires it as part of the curriculum

Check if SUNY Buffalo allows/encourages co-ops, and if it has a good career centers for internships.

UB doesn’t seem to have any structured coop programs
