I’m going to be a senior in high school and And I’m starting to feel very stressed out about college. I have a 3.1 GPA And currently a 23 on the ACT. I’m planning to take the ACT one more time to try to improve it.

I’m not exactly sure what I want to major in. For the longest time I thought I wanted to become a nurse, but now I’m second guessing it. So now I’m thinking about becoming a radiology technician. I wld want to get my bachelors degree.

I know that Ohio state university has a great Radiology program, But I will never be able to get into Ohio State straight out of high school. My friend is going to community college and says that it is the better option bc I have the chance to work hard and attend a college I wld never be able to get into otherwise.

Do you think it’s more beneficial for me to take the CC route first and the transfer to uni?

I always think that CC is a great route because 1) you save a lot of money while getting req’s out of the way, and 2) you can work hard and go to a much better university. Unless you get into a school that you’re truly happy about and that has a great program in your area, I would go to CC and improve your GPA and resume.

Going to a JC is good when you don’t know what you want to do. I have friends that decided to go to the local one because they didn’t know what they wanted to study in college. If you do go to a JC, get your Associate’s degree. Depending on the higher education system, you may be able to dodge some of the core requirements.

What about the other 4 year state schools in Ohio? For Kent State, your GPA is just a little below average and your ACT is just a little above average. You have a lot of options besides OSU and a CC:
