Should I go?

Ok so I am a high school student trying to decide if i should enroll in this tour of an international country that I would go on this summer. My problem is that it’s just a sightseeing tour that my mom is paying a whole bunch of money for and I’m afraid it won’t help me with college admissions at all. I much rather do a summer program that I would enjoy and boost my resume as well. So should I go and if not are there any suggestions for summer programs offered to high school sophomores interested in math and science?

Generally, pay-to-play summer programs won’t impress top colleges. I’d advise your mother to save her money.

I’m not particularly well-versed in math and science programs (though searching this forum and the “Most Prestigious Summer Programs” thread stickied at the top of the forum homepage will help), but there are less formal things you could do in the summer as well. Email a local college professor and see if he needs help with research, or take a community college class to get ahead in math (or just to learn about a subject your high school doesn’t offer).
