Should I include this in the circumstances/qualification essay?

For the optional prompt, “Please upload a document here if you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application.”

I’m thinking of giving a description (from my point of view) of what life is like with my struggle with the autistic spectrum (I have Asperger’s), and moderate to severe depression. I’ve had both of these all my life. I’m worried it could come across as a “Oh, woe is me! Pity me and my sobstory!” What do you think?

Note: I’m not planning to use it as an excuse for low grades. I just want to impress them by showing all I’ve done despite it.

I have a 3.8 (weighted) GPA. My unweighted in only 3.5 (at first quarter) but I’m going to get 4.0 as my final 1st-semester senior grades. I’m a full IB Diploma candidate, with a projected score of 38-39. I got 29 on the ACT and 2000 on the SAT. I’ve volunteered 500 hours at the zoo and science museum. I’ve been to Vietnam on a Medical Mission. (I love volunteering, as you can probably guess!) I’ve been in five school plays (about 200 hours per show), I’m an active member of the swim team, NSHSS, Mensa. I’m also a singer and I do acrobatics (trapeze, a little gymnastics).

I see by your previous posts that you have tried asking this before and that you indicated you were going to write your essay about your brother’s death.

What I think is that if you write your optional essay about your brother then you might ask your GC about including something about your Asperger’s and any struggles in school.

If you decide to write your optional essay about your perception of life through the eyes of someone with Aspergers instead of your brother’s death then you have your chance there.
