Should I join a community college honors society even if I'm transfering in a year's time?

<p>My CC has a chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and I’m wondering whether I should join it. I will be transfering in the fall of 2015 to go to a four year school where I’m planning of joining honor societies there. Is joining a CC one worth it?</p>

<p>It probably varies, but in my state it would be an easy way to knock off some tuition. Most of the state schools have automatic scholarships for members ranging from 1 to 3k. </p>

RIT will award Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships valued at $2,000 per year to all students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa honorary society and who complete an associate degree prior to enrolling at RIT. We also waive the $60 admission application fee for all PTK members.
