<p>Okay…I want to know if I even have a chance of getting into the school I want to attend. I have to attend school in Boston, MA. && to be honest, I am not going to be COMPLETELY picky with which 4 year I get into…but I’m petrified to DEATH that I WONT get into any college there. because I live in Michigan, but relocating to Boston, and I’m entering my senior year in September, but I’m afraid because my GPA is SUPER low. It’s 2.36, and I got a 17 on the ACT. (But I’m retaking it in October), I dont do any school activities, but i DO volunteer and have two part time jobs. I have never taken AP classes. and I am going to graduate high school with taking Algebra 2 in my Senior year…so I am behind in the Math department. & Freshman year, my grades were embarassingly low like, 1.19 GPA low. lol. And sophomore year I increased a little. And Junior year my grades were A & B’s. So I’ve increased each year…and this year is the first year I will be taking college prepatory classes, like 12th Grade College Prep English, and College Chemistry. & I plan on joining Student Government for my last year, and continue doing volunteerwork just to increase my chances. Is all of this worth it?</p>
<p>if youre talking about umass-boston, then you stand a decent shot if you bring your act up a couple points. also, you could retake the act in september as well.</p>

<p>they dont have a minimum gpa, but they do give you the perecentages of students in your gpa range. your range is 2.0-2.49, and the perecentages are:
umass boston: 15%
simmons: doesnt say
suffolk: 17%
northeastern: doesnt say, but their test scores are a lot higher than yours.</p>

<p>You can attend CC there, just be prepared to get ripped off big time by the tuition. CC is only really cheap for state residents. I’m not sure how difficult it is to legally establish residency in Massachusetts.</p>
<p>Anyways, if you just want to be a nurse, you don’t even have to go to college! You can just go to community college in Michigan, and after two years you’ll be a nurse.</p>
<p>Yeah, but I dont want to attend school in Michigan. I’ve lived here for 10 years, and I just have no family or friends. I miss Massachusetts! It’s where my childhood friends are and family, so it feels more like home no matter where else I live. Thats why I want to go to school there. And My Mom gave me an OK to go to school in MA or in FL. …but I will just be so disapointed if I HAVE to start off in CC. Like, it wont be by choice…but because I cant get into anything else. So are my options pretty much just CC in Michigan, or CC in Boston? =/</p>
<p>Not much of a shot at Amherst but a definite shot at Boston…you could try schools in Jersey or Philly.</p>

<p>Work on your GPA. Be sure to show GPA upward trend to schools - even if it means getting your guidance office to send additional, recent report cards.</p>

<p>No no no no no no. Your chances aren’t 15%, that’s 15% of students there have a similar GPA to yours. In any case, you really need to A) Get your ACT up around 21 B) Get AMAZING grades first semester and C) do whatever you can to get residency in Mass.</p>

<p>… I didn’t play a single sport and I was fine. Put your activities that you do in the extracurricular section and if you feel it is necessary, explain it more in the extra information section. Colleges really understand if you have to work so they won’t give you less credit for working! They’re people too and I’m pretty sure they’ll understand how hard it is to keep ONE job let alone TWO jobs and still be successful at school!</p>
