Should I just give up?

University of California Santa Barbara is my dream school and I don’t want to go any where else and I REALLY don’t want to go to community college.
My uc gpa is a 3.3
I want to get a 28+ on the act
I’m guna take 3 say subject tests and try for a 700+ on all of them

My ECs consists of clubs, community service, instruments and assistant for my dad in his job
My cousin is super good at helping people with essays but idk how much that will help my chances.
3 APs 2 honors
All required + recommended courses attended and I am a California resident

If I should just give up on my dream school, please suggest a school similar to it.

if its dream skl bcuz of the ocean i recommend university of hawaii

Don’t give up! Are you a rising senior?

Yes I am a senior

i think ur stats are way too low. if you really want to go, you can always go to community college, rock those 2 yrs and then transfer.

If ucsb is your dream school, then go for it! why give up without even trying in the first place?? This kind of mind-set won’t get you far in college. If you really want to go to ucsb, apply for it! It doesn’t hurt to give it a try right?

I honestly feel like my essay and ECs made the difference for me. I had a 3.93 GPA and 32 ACT and I got in for Electrical Engineering. None of my friends got in for engineering there, and they had similar/higher stats than me. That said, aim for a 33 on the ACT and write a REALLY good essay. I’d say you have a pretty good shot then.

I got in UCSB with a 3.1 UC GPA and an 1810 SAT.

However, that was back in 2010. I know that UCSB has increasingly became harder to be admitted to. . .but yet, I hope my case gives you hope.
