Should I leave a University while in good standing in order to take classes at a community college?

Hello,

Thank you for reading this thread. I will go ahead and give you some more information. My college experience is very long and complicated, so I will stick to the relevant information (not including this sentence).

So I am a junior history major at NCSU, but when I transferred here I intended to change my major to Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Don’t get me wrong, I love history, but I love almost every field and I have always enjoyed science classes more. For the past year I have wanted to change my major, but I didn’t because I felt stuck, so I am thinking about leaving NCSU and re-enrolling at Wake Tech Community College. My grades are fine, A’s and (mostly) B’s, but I am worried that I may not be able to transfer into a chemistry department at NCSU or any other school.Cost is an issue which is why I am considering community college.

Should I just finish my degree and go back to school for a new degree or should I go to community college and take my chances.

Can’t you take CC class during summer?
Also, changing major during junior year isn’t exactly a good idea…history and Chem. E are totally different fields, and you will have to start from elementary Chem.E classes. Also, it will take more years=more money.

Just finish your history degreee

I think you are right. Thanks Paul!
