Should I let counselor rewrite rec?

I just found out that when submitting the midyear school report, my counselor has the option to rewrite his rec.

I’m applying from Germany and we don’t have something like a GC in America, so my GC was basically the coordinator of our class who also was my physics teacher. So he knew me from physics classes and in his rec he wrote that he enthusiatically recommended me for stuying physics and math.

Now the thing is I want to go into economics, not physics and math and I told the colleges so.
Will his recommendation “hurt” me in any way? And since he now has the chance to change the recommendation, is it a good idea to include that he just found out I’m going into economics and change his rec?

Please can anyone help?

Not a big deal. If he enthusiastically recommended you, and provided sufficient detail to back up that enthusiasm, it doesn’t really matter what you said you would like to study once you get to the US. US schools know that students change their minds all the time about their majors.

Thank you very much M’s mom!
