Should I let her stay with us?

Kudos to the OP, I would not have the courage to take a responsibility like this at all. Kudos to the OP.

Yes, kudos to the OP. I think there could be unforseen challenges. (Do make sure the father signs any required temp guardian paperwork). But it seems like they would be a kind hearted family that could navigate through it.

OP - Does this mean you get to do double duty for college app coaching too?

That’s an amazing thing to do, and it speaks loads to your character. If you can afford it, I would do it-but make sure she knows about curfews, meal times, family rules, etc.

Please let us know what happens, OP. I think you are a very kind person. I feel for you son’s friend. She is lucky to have your family in her life.

Thanks for the kudos, but I don’t think they are merited. I haven’t done anything yet :). Girl is spending tons of time at our house, though, and since I am usually surrounded by boys, it’s actually pretty fun for me. She is getting really relaxed around us, too; hung out in her jammies until 2:00pm, and only got dressed to go to work.

I say go-for-it! I can’t imagine ever regretting your decision!

I think it’s a great thing for you to do! :)
